2024 Field Day (June11) Event Updates


Field Day - June 11, 2024 9:15am to 3:15pm

It's that time again end of the school year fun for all! It all starts on June 11th with our school wide field day activities. All DDMES students will have the opportunity to participate in indoor and outdoor fun for the day, as we celebrate the end of another fantastic school year! There will be multiple experiences, games and treats for students to enjoy.



*REMINDER*

There are NO SPECTATORS ALLOWED at Field Day. ONLY VOLUNTEERS THAT ARE SIGNED UP FOR THE WORKING VOLUNTEER SPOTS. If parents come that are NOT on the Volunteer sign up, they will be asked to leave due to saftey and crowd control for the Event.

 FIELD DAY is for the students only and not a Spectator event.

SIGN-UP WILL CLOSE on June 9th at 5 p.m.! 


Volunteer duties include assisting students with games or activities, line/crowd management, handing out refreshments, and anything else needed. Volunteers may visit the DDMES Swag shop and purchase their own Dragonfly Volunteer T-shirt to wear on the day and help support our school spirit! The more help we have, the better!


Visit the DDMES Swag Shop to purchase volunteer and school spirit shirts. You can also purchase your student a field day shirt as well if you choose. (not a requirement)

!Important Volunteer Information PLEASE READ!

Volunteers, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your shift so you can park and check in at our ORANGE PTA TENT (located at the front of the school near the Kindergarten Playground). Do not go to the front office when you arrive. Come straight to the ORANGE TENT. (We will have a QRcode for you to sign into the school check in system) If you have a volunteer shirt, please feel free to wear it. If not, please dress for the weather.


Bring a water bottle and sunscreen for the weather. When you check in, we will provide you with an orange lanyard with your name that MUST BE WORN DURING YOUR SHIFT. When you have completed your shift, please check out at the ORANGE TENT with our PTA Board Team.

***If you want to check out your student, please let the PTA STAFF KNOW AT CHECK IN SO WE CAN WORK WITH THE OFFICE.

This is a working event; we will need ALL VOLUNTEERS to work in their assigned areas at all times. If you need a break, please let Stacey Webb or Holly Mason (PTA Board Members know so we can cover your area.) 

Also, as a reminder, younger siblings are not allowed to participate in your volunteer time. This event is for DDMES students only, and younger siblings are not allowed to be on campus with you during your shift. If this changes your availability, please let the PTA know ASAP so we can adjust your time slot.

Field Day Guidelines

Kids cannot do the water activities if they do not bring a change of clothes.  

Alternative activities are provided if  you or your child wish not to participate in water activities and please notify the teacher so they can make sure the kid knows.  

Students CAN bring:

  • Hats

  • Sunglasses

  • Bag with Towel, Change of clothes, that can also hold wet clothes (we will have plastic grocery bags if a child forgets theirs) 

  • Water bottle is encouraged but we will have cups if necessary

What Students should wear/not wear

  • No parent/guardian spectators for safety purposes

  • NO suntan lotion can be applied at school as per WCPSS guidelines

    • Sunscreen must be applied before arriving to school by parent or guardian.  (WCPSS policy)

    • We encourage a swim shirt or long sleeves to prevent from sunburn

  • NO bikinis or shirtless students (WCPSS guidelines)

    • Clothes for water activities that are not see through, everyone must wear a shirt and shorts/pants,(swim shirt, shorts) ANYTHING ACCEPTABLE THROUGH WCPSS CLOTHING POLICY

    • No See through clothing when wet, ie. no white clothing

  • Bring a change of clothes and towel
